Wanted vegan option and this cafe had a good selection more than anyone else with vegan cheese. I was very impressed and it was so tasty and good value, lovely freshly made and baguettes were a good size very filling.

Very friendly efficient staff, service was super fast and food fresh and tasty. Had a Sausage, Bacon and Egg Bap. Sausages and Bacon were lovely and the egg cooked perfectly. Very nice Latte Coffee with smoth and rich flavour. Three small tables outside tucked away from the crowds which is nice.

The food is very filling and delicious. I ordered the ham & cheese baguette with the chocolate milkshake. The ham and cheese baguette's bread was perfectly baked and relatively crispy. The cheese is delicious. The ham, chefs kiss. Don't even get me started with the milkshake. The milkshake is perfectly sweet, good portion size, and the texture is really creamy and rich.
The people there were so nice and kind. They serve the customers with smiles on their face which makes me feel so much better. The food arrived really quickly and was delicious.
The atmosphere was wonderful, a small place but it is a warm and cozy place. Beautiful decorations.
Conclusion, definitely recommend. I would recommend this if you are coming to Bourton-on-the-water and wanting a snack or meal.- Service

Another gluten free, vegan and dog friendly gem in the beautiful Cotswolds. Came for a gluten free, vegan bagel with vegan-halloumi, avocado and chilli jam…. It was AMAZING, and all the staff were super helpful and the service was great. Went back a couple of hours later for another!!!!! Highly recommended

I was amazed by the enormous variety they have in their menu even though it’s such a small place. Everything’s prepared freshly. I loved how they had many healthy options, sugar free, vegan, lactose free… etc etc. Great work guys. 👏🏻

I was on a group bus tour from London and because we were only given limited time to spend time at Bourton-on-the-Water, I decided to have a take-out for lunch. I chose The Den and had their Pesto chicken & cheese toasted baguette- it was very very good! The combination of melted cheese, chicken and pesto was delicious. I also could not resist trying their Bourbon brownie. And it was one of the best brownies I’ve ever had!! Crunch on the outside and fudgy on the inside!! Very warm and welcoming staff too :)- Service

They have a big range of vegan bagels, baguettes, salads, milkshakes and a also few cakes.
We had variations of the smashed avo and vegan halloumi bagels. They were really good and the toast bagels we soft and very good quality.
My boy got a vegan chocolate milkshake and having tried it I should have got one too!
Great location in the centre of town, and a perfect take away to go and sit by the river with. They also have non vegan options.
The two women working there were really friendly and helpful.- Service

Myself and my boyfriend visited the Cotswolds for a midweek trip and stumbled across “the den”. We were greeted with two friendly employees who made our visit to the shop a great experience. So much so we visited the following day! The food was amazing and we couldn’t stop thinking about it the next day, therefore we returned. Although we didn’t have any of the cakes, they looked amazing and the food selection is massive and caters to everyone. If in bourton on the water, I would definitely recommend a trip here!- Service

I had a vegan tuna baguette, milkshake and a lemon blueberry muffin. All were lovely. Also the lady that served us was super friendly and cheerful even though it was a busy/hectic day! Thanks!

Tiny place best for takeaway. Super friendly staff. Nice menu with lots of vegan options. Fairly priced. Delicious. We’ve been back every day for three days for their vegan desserts and baguettes. Will be getting more food tomorrow for our travel day.
Excellent gluten free options! Even during busy times, they took great care to avoid cross contamination (one of the staff has coeliac so I felt in very safe hands).

We've lived in the area for a few years and sampled a large amount of coffee shops in the Cotswolds :-) There's definitely a number of coffee shops in Bourton selling endless amounts of pastries, caffeine and you're almost spoilt for choice, but this is definitely one of the better shops in town. You have the Cornish Bakery which has sadly lost it's grass roots and turned into another "chain". The Chestnut Tree is local, great little place, but sadly doesn't make their coffee from a barista machine. The Box Bush again, great, but a massive tourist trap. This place is off the beaten path, serves great coffee and some great pastries! Thoroughly recommend!- Food

Questions & answers
101Hi are you fog friendly
Hi June, I am answering as an employee of The Den! We are dog friendly and we welcome our furry friends with a little treat too. However, if you were looking for a place to sit we are currently operating as a take away only, but offering our usual extensive menu of hot and cold food/drinks. Hope this helps, Lisa
